Grinding down waist before making compost?

Question by jbaby: Grinding down waist before making compost?
I want to make a compost bin. I’m going to make it so i can rotate the compost. I want the soil to be fine, and my shop teacher told me i needed to find a way to grind the food down so it will compose quicker and wont turn into mulch. How can I do so without it being a pain in the behind?
I’m planning on composing the schools food waist. So this is sorta like 2 questions in one. There are greasy foods, milk cartons, some Styrofoam, and meats in the waist. Is there a way i can keep those products in the compost? How will it effect the compost?
I am sorry. I know I misspelled waste… But that doesn’t give anyone the right to criticize. If you are only loooking at the post to do so please do not help.
Now thAt I have that out of the wAy, I didn’t mention that I need the compost to be quickerr that is why I need to grind it down… it speeds up process take about a month. Thank you.

Keeping it moist is more important than anything…if your compost dries out, it won’t rot hardly at all so build it in a way that holds moisture. I made a big one out of 4′ hog wire, sandwiched some black roofing felt between two ‘barrels’ of the hog wire and something to top it off is good, preferably an inverted cone shape with a hole in it to let rain in. I lift it up every few years and sift the good dirt out. It’s good to throw some dirt in with the compost every so often to add bacteria etc.
