Question by tigglys: How do you grow roses from cuttings?
I know there is a way to do it, but I’ve never been successful.
What has worked for you?
Also – when is the best time to do it? I think that now is NOT the right time since they are blooming, right? When is a good time?

1. take your cutting when any new growth has “hardened off” and there are no buds of flowers on your cutting.
2. cut your stem at a angle to allow the cut to absorb the most water it can while the roots start, and dip your cut end into a rooting hormone that you can buy at any garden shop and many hardware stores with a good garden section.
3. carefully place your cutting in a STERILE potting mix. be careful to keep from knocking off the powdered hormone while you gently pack your soil around the cut stem.
4. keep well watered, but not saturated while your new roots form
