Question by Tasha: How to keep flies away from our compost bin?
I’m looking for a natural way to keep flies away from our compost bin. Something that will not make the compost ‘uncompostable’ 
In our community the compost is only picked up every two weeks and I find that by the end of week one there are flies all around. I try not to put in any raw meats, but the problem persists.
I’m trying to do my part for the environment but its pretty gross and making me have second thoughts about these efforts.

After you put stuff into the bin put a layer of leaves or lawn clippings on top.
