Question by Wise Fool: Can I make compost this way?
I am trying to make compost for our garden, but I do not want to make/buy a bin. Can I just dig a small hole and place the garden clippings, vegetables, fruit, eggshells etc. and cover it with dirt? Then dig another small hole and repeat the process. Will this work? How long will it take?

It works and it only takes about 2 weeks to start, then only about 5 days
