Nothing wrong with rain water collection, you can buy or make your own rain barrels and water your plants, some of your lawn and to assist with the compost. However, stick to your treated city tap to wash your dishes and toting water in buckets to fill up your toilet tank is just a tad bit ridiculous. By saving water usage outside, you’ll make up for normal usage inside.
